Apex court to deliver ruling on Osun state guber poll appeal

The Supreme Court is finally set to deliver its verdict over the appeal filed by the immediate former governor of Osun State, Gboyega Oyetola, against the election result that brought Sen. Ademola Adeleke to power, on Tuesday, May 9.

The immediate past governor, Gboyega Oyetola is asking for the withdrawal and reversal of the March 25 Appeal Court ruling, Abuja Division, which upheld Adeleke’s victory in the July 17, 2022 gubernatorial election in the state.

It would be recalled that the Court of Appeal, had ruled against the initial judgement by the Osun State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal which sacked Sen. Adeleke.

It should be however, noted the decision of the Supreme Court to deliver judgement was made by a five-member panel of the Supreme Court after arguments has been taken from lawyers to parties on Monday, May 8.
